The entire campus is covered by a 802.11 wireless network. All areas except open park-like areas are covered in 802.11g. The rest is covered in 802.11b. The network's SSID is CaseGuest. The network is open—neither WEP nor WPA encryption is enabled, and thus there is no password needed to connect to the wireless network. Therefore, many services that are available only to people connected to the Case network (such as the Software Center) are not available to wireless users. Also, Internet bandwidth (especially uploading) from the wireless network is severely limited. Case users can avoid both of these problems by using the VPN when connected to Case's wireless network.
