Vending

Vending machines on the second floor of Glennan

To survive on campus, one must master the subtle art of vending. This page is intended to document the premier vending options available.

Pepsi is the only allowed drink vendor on Case's campus, so all drink machines will have Pepsi or related products. Luckily Dr. Pepper is included with this arrangement, making one single thing Pepsi-haters can drink.

Coke is available from the vending machines in the University Hospital. It was formerly sold by the Film Society, but this is no longer the case.

Contents

[edit] Bingham

There are two Pepsi machines (one with bottles, the other with cans) and a snack machine on the first floor of Bingham. Go in the main entrance, turn right, and walk down the short flight of stairs to the lounge area. Or, go in the side entrance across from White and go down the short stairway to the left.

[edit] Biomedical Research Building

The Biomedical Research Building has vending machines on the first floor, located up the stairs from the Adelbert entrance to the building. The vending machines are located between the BRB Bistro and the BRB Café. At least one of the machines accepts the Case ID Cards as payment.

[edit] Crawford

Crawford has vending machines in the basement in the fire exit stair well.

[edit] Glennan

Glennan has three Pepsi machines, a coffee machine, and a snack machine located on the 2nd floor, in the corridor connecting Glennan to White. This is the premier vending option between the three buildings (Olin, White, Glennan).

One of the machines has been marked as a thief, with such labels as "It tooks me 50 cent" written on the face of it. These labels date back as far as 1998 though, and should not deter modern vending enthusiasts.

There was a Pepsi machine in the 5th floor student lounge, but it has been returned from whence it came. No one yet knows what the 3rd floor renovation project will mean for vending.

[edit] Kelvin Smith Library

Kelvin Smith Library has 3 vending machines on the lower level. There is a Pepsi machine, a snack machine, and a hot beverage machine. The card reader on the hot beverage machine is currently broken. These machines are not restocked often enough.

[edit] Millis

Millis has a Pepsi machine in the lowest floor at the base of the stairwell at the far east side of the building. The stairwell is the one just south of the elevator shaft and is the same one that leads up to the area where graded Chemistry exams are placed in the hallway.

[edit] Nord

Nord's only vending option is a Pepsi machine by the back stairwell (behind the atrium wall). It is another machine out of the way sufficiently that it may still have things in stock that are sold out elsewhere. You are otherwise suggested to proceed to Sears.

[edit] Olin

Olin has a Pepsi machine and a snack machine located inside the lobby on the third floor. They are nothing to write home about. Glennan is a better bet.

[edit] Peter B. Lewis

There are vending machines located on the lower level of the Peter B. Lewis Building. They are located across from the elevators on the north side. There is a Pepsi machine, a hot beverage machine, and at least one other machine.

[edit] Rockefeller

Rockefeller has two vending machines behind the main stairs on the 1st floor. They are nothing to write home about.

[edit] Sears

Sears has the mecca of vending in the outer area of Bag-It, on the third floor right inside the main lobby. There are a ton of machines, including two that accept Case ID Cards as payment. These are no doubt the highest traffic machines in the area, so you may have to try lesser used machines in the event of a sell-out.

Sears's vending area has two snack machines (one takes the Case ID), four drink machines (one takes Case ID), and a historical vending machine: one of those spinning things that dispenses sandwiches made prior to the founding of the university (they were moved here from Western Reserve in Hudson, OH). Of particular note is the availability of a larger non-soda selection in the drink machines.

Toward the end of the 2006 Spring semester, the Case ID-enabled Pepsi machine was labeled "Warm and gross", "Out of order", and "Lier". This was because the machine was malfunctioning and the Pepsi within, rather than being refreshingly chilled, was heated to well above room temperature. The situation was rectified over the summer months.

[edit] Thwing

Thwing has vending machines in the main stairwell area. The ones on the ground floor level accept Case ID Cards, but they are popular and often sold out. The bottom level has two Pepsi machines and one of the few fruit-drink machines on campus.

[edit] Tomlinson

Tomlinson has no vending machines.

[edit] White

White has no known vending options. You are recommended to proceed to Glennan.

[edit] Wickenden

Wickenden has no known vending options, you should proceed to Sears.

[edit] Yost

Yost has Pepsi machines on the first and fourth floors. There is a snack machine on the first floor.
