Thomas P. Steindler

Steindler is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery. His practice focuses on commercial, telecommunications and intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on appellate practice. He was lead counsel for a coalition of electric utility companies in National Cable & Telecommunications Association, Inc. v. Gulf Power Co., et al. and argued the case before the United States Supreme Court.

Steindler also has extensive experience in transnational litigation, including numerous civil and criminal matters. In addition to his law practice, Steindler is vice chairman and general counsel of Engis Corp., a privately-held, global company that manufactures and markets superabrasive finishing systems. He is also a professional trumpet player and actively involved in support for the arts. He and his wife Julie reside in McLean, Virginia.
