McNulty's is just another in an endless sea of boring sports bars serving batter-fried garbage to poorly-dressed people. It is at least privately owned. Having established a customer base as a Panini's franchise, the owners figured they could go out on their own without paying franchise dues. They were a complete success, all they had to do was drop the "Panini's" name and copywritten names from the menu. Leaving eveery thing else the same, they have remained succesful owing to the fact that they now blend in beautifully with the other 35 or so bars on the once-interesting Coventry Road that were stamped out with the same cookie cutter and you likely don't even know into what bar you have stumbled-thank you Tommy Fallo.
