[edit] Wade and Fribley Printing
Students can print up to 500 pages per semester to laser printers located in Wade Commons and Fribley Commons.
[edit] Printing to Wade from Windows
These instructions are for Windows XP and 2000 only, unfortunately we do not currently have reliable instructions for Windows 98 or ME.
- You need to register via the printing web page before you can print to the Wade and Fribley printers. Go to http://printing.cwru.edu/register and enter just your regular Case Username. (Usually your initials follwed by a number such as abc123) Note, url will probably change later in the year.
- You will receive an automated confirmation email that registration was successful. You should wait until you receive this email before continuing. (If Registration was not successful, you will be unable to print). You only have to register once.
- Download the driver. You will be asked to run the file from its current location or save to disk, choose save to disk. You can save it wherever you like on your computer, make a note of the location.
- Double click on the printdriver.exe file you downloaded to extract the driver. It will make a new folder called 'printdriver' on your computer under the main C: directory.
- Go to 'Start' and select 'Printers and Faxes' or 'Settings' and then 'Printers' and then click 'Add a printer'.
- Select 'Connect to a printer on the internet or on a home/office network' or 'network printer'. There is a space to type in the URL, enter: https://printing.cwru.edu/classes/wade for the North Campus Wade Commons Printer or https://printing.cwru.edu/classes/fribley for the South Campus Fribley Commons Printer. Note the S on Https, this is different from last year's URL! Also if you put an empty space before or after the URL it will cause an error and prevent you from printing, be careful.
- Click next. You will be asked for a username and password. This will be your regular Case Username and password. If you have Windows 2000, you may get an error first about the Security Certificate, just click 'Yes' to continue past the error.
- Click Next. You will be asked to select the driver for the printer, select 'Have Disk' for the driver and then type in the path as C:\printdriver\printdriver. You could alternatively click 'Browse' and go to your C drive and select the file you downloaded and extracted. In the printdriver folder will be a file called printers.inf, double click on it. You may get an error that the driver has not been logo tested by Windows, click 'continue anyway'
- Click OK. Select if you would like this to be your default printer and click Next and then Finish.
Now you're ready to Print! Your print out will have your Case User ID on the cover page for identification.

- Select 'Generic' as the printer model.
- Click Add and then close the Printer Setup Utility.
Your short login name for your computer will show up on your printouts. To find out what this name is:
- Open System Preferences
