[edit] iCal Downloader

You can use the Oracle iCal downloader available at http://webservices.case.edu/calendar/oracle/download to download an iCal file to load into your preferred calendaring application. This will work with Apple's iCal, Mozilla Calendar, Mozilla Sunbird, or Google Calendar.

If you preferred calendaring application can subscribe to remote iCal files and be supplied with HTTP parameters for authentication, this URL (http://webservices.case.edu/calendar/oracle/download) can also be used to subscribe to a remote iCal file. If your preferred application cannot supply credentials with the HTTP request, see the next section on getting a URL referencable iCal file.

Large calendars may take up to one minute to download. Most calendars should take less than five seconds.

The source code for this program is available.

[edit] URL Referencable iCal File

By going to http://webservices.case.edu/calendar/ical, you can generate a secret URL to provide your iCal file and subscribe to it without having to provide any credentials. This is useful for Google Calendar.

A couple of caveats exist with the URL referencable iCal file. Google may have trouble processing the file because of size. To alleviate size problems, the iCal file only represents the current month's, previous month's, and next month's listings. And it caches the file for 24 hours.

[edit] Using the Oracle Calendar Application

The calendar application from Oracle is available from the Software Center. Versions for Windows, Linux, and OS X are available.

[edit] On Your Handheld Wirelessly

You can use SyncML by Synthesis to sync your Oracle calendar, contacts, and tasks on a handheld (PocketPC, Palm, SmartPhone, etc.) over a wireless network.
