1) Tracking lead Based paint and other safety issues

2) Physicians using PDA’s to collect data

3) Google PDA based location and other social based networking ideas. Answer the question: Where can I get a cheap cup of coffee based on my location?

4) Determine network availability either cellular or wifi for connecting to AV materials that are available over the web

5) Solar Powered PDA and phone devices that will always work in remote areas of the world. These devices would be multi-lingual as well

6) Home based network repeaters (solar powered)in underprivileged parts of the world that would attached to the roof of homes and carry wireless network infrastructure

7) Tablet PC’s with scanners attached to allow for data capturing

8) Matching cars on street that are illegally parked to police databases by sending pictures of the car or of the license plate. This idea was expanded to matching any pictures to databases.

9) Mobile like chat that knows where you are and can answer questions via voice or text. This can be similar to Google Answer. A kind of open source reference

12) Collaboration with - Doctor’s without borders group – and integrating the success that cell phones have had in Africa

13) Aiding civic responsibility by facilitating electronic voting via hand-held devices

14) Voice activation and speech recognition for application interfaces for 3rd world nations is extremely important given the high rates of illiteracy. Libraries can have a big hand in this.

15) Tibetan agencies, working with Professor Goldstein, to provide a mechanism for his materials to be seen and heard via cellular devices

16) Storage of Health Care Information for each individual on their mobile device as a way to not have to provide personal information that is protected under HIPAA to people that working in Health Care that don’t need it

17) SMS based messages that track belongings and report real-time regarding its whereabouts. Such as luggage in an airport terminal

18) Emergency Response System – this would be for areas that don’t have a 911 service. This system would be a Graphically driven interface that would send peoples coordinates and their HIPPA related information when in trouble such as a floods, hurricanes, tornados, etc…
