Mathematics SI Program

The Mathematics Supplemental Instruction (SI) program is a group of talented young mathematical minds that provides assistance to students of introductory math courses. It is quite unlike other SI programs, mainly because it is run by Chris Butler rather than ESS. The following courses have SI support from the math department:

The program was founded over a decade ago, when, as the story goes, there were large percentages (half or more) of students failing Calculus. So rather than make the courses easier, the department decided to take steps to provide more assistance to students, and one measure was to hire student employees. These students became known as SI's.
