[edit] Using Linux at Case
Setting up Linux to run at Case is a painless procedure. In nearly every case, assuming you can install Linux yourself, getting it to run at Case requires no special instructions.
[edit] Computer Labs Running Linux
Olin 404.5 has Sun Ray thin clients that connect to a Ubuntu Linux server volatile.case.edu. Furthermore, anyone with with an EECS account can connect to volatile.case.edu with SSH.
The current method of setting up an account is to telnet into cerne.case.edu and login as user newuser. You will be prompted for information needed to set up your account. More information on requesting an account can be found here.

Obtaining Linux can take up a lot of bandwidth. It is recommended that you obtain Linux through internal mirrors.
