The Jolly Scholar is a restaurant and sports bar in the Thwing Student Center, at the former location of Wackadoo's. In addition to a fairly standard bar food menu, there is a small selection of meals that can be purchased for one meal swipe, but only one meal swipe per week can be used either here or at the Silver Spartan. The Jolly Scholar has several TVs which show live sports games, including many that are not available on the basic student cable package. There is sometimes live music on weekends.

[edit] Obama Campaign Rally

In the fall of 2008, the Jolly Scholar was the host of a campaign rally for then Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama. Though Obama himself was not in attendance, actress Scarlett Johansson was there as a representative of the Obama campaign.
