Hudson Relays

The Hudson Relays is an annual tradition that occurs the last weekend before finals every spring semester. It entails a race between the classes of approximately 26 miles all around campus and the surrounding community.

[edit] History of the Race

The Hudson Relays have been run every year since 1826 to mark the move of Western Reserve College from Hudson to Cleveland. Until 1990, the race route was from Hudson to a rock in front of Adelbert Hall. Since that year, the route has been local to the Case campus. Winners of previous races have their class year carved on rocks sitting just outside the south wall of Adelbert Hall.

[edit] Steak Dinner

Any class that wins the race all 4 years (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Sunior) will be rewarded with a champagne and steak dinner with the President of the University.

At the 2005 Halloween at the Farm, Glenn Nichols announced that any class that upset the 3-time champ Class of 2006 would be rewarded with an all-expenses paid event at Wackadoo's. He implied that alcohol for all legal consumers would also be provided, hopefully giving extra motivation to the Class of 2007.

After winning the 2006 Hudson Relays, the Class of 2006 was rewarded with a steak dinner held in the Wolstein Center.
