George Majoros Jr. has served the Case School of Law in its vision to lead the way in legal education through his work with the law school’s visiting committee. He expands his leadership role at the university as a new member of the Case Board of Trustees.
Majoros is president and chief operating officer of Wasserstein, a major independent private equity and investment firm that has more than $2 billion in private equity and assets in its portfolio. Wasserstein focuses on leveraged buyout investments, venture capital investments and related investment activities. He joined Wasserstein in 1993 as part of the Wasserstein Perella Group.
Throughout his career, Majoros has overseen more than 100 mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions. He previously practiced law with Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, where he specialized in contested takeovers, leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and corporate and security law.
Majoros also has served as president and chief executive officer for Yardley of London, Ltd. He currently is a member of the boards of directors of Real Estate Media Holdings Inc., American Layer Media Group, American Seafoods Group and Bear Creek Corp. In addition, he is co-chair of the board of directors for MasterCraft Boat Co. Inc.
Before earning his law degree at Case and serving as managing editor of the Law Review, Majoros received his A.B. in economics from the University of Michigan.
