Formula SAE

Formula SAE is located in the "pit" on the 1st floor of the Olin Building.

This club is supervised by Ken Loparo (faculty) and is manhandled by David Rear (student). Rear is basically the man to talk to regarding anything about this club.

Meetings are usually held Wednesdays or Thursdays in The Pit in Olin first floor, directly to the right of the elevator when you exit it, or Glennan 421. Newcomers are welcome to attend and learn more about the Case team or get involved and help out.

Machine shop nights were previously on Mondays but have recently been moved to Wednesday. Mini Baja now uses the Bingham shop during that time slot. John Beano is the person mainly in charge of manufacturing parts, and is also serving as an assistant to Jim Drake. One note: EMAE 172 is required to work in the Bingham machine shop, but one can be tutored by experienced members of the club in activities such as welding, milling, and drilling. All experience levels are welcome.

Case F1SAE previously won Best Rookie entry in the 2005 competition, and also finished the entire competition. This is notable since quite a few other teams broke down and did not complete - making this quite a feat for a new entrant.

The website is located at http://formula.case.edu/

Currently the main sponsors are the Case Alumni Association, with their gracious contributions to the club. Other notable donors are the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, as well as private benefactors.
