Department of Cognitive Science

Cognitive Science is a multi-disciplinary approach to the understanding of human cognition and the genesis thereof. Because it is multi-disciplinary, classes and professors are drawn from disciplines such as psychology, biology, linguistics, philosophy, and math. There are currently 65 undergraduate Cognitive Science majors and 25 faculty members, many having primary appointments in other departments.

The Cognitive Science Department is a relatively new department at Case, having been founded circa 2006. At this time, Merlin Donald was the Department Chair. Since his retirement in 2007, Mark Turner has filled this role.
