Case IM uses the Jive Software Openfire Enterprise IM server, which implements the open Jabber Instant Messaging protocol. As a result, many Instant Messaging Clients on many different platforms can be used to access the University's IM service. See the sub-pages below for more information about setting up various clients, including one for handheld devices (imov). Spark is the recommended client if you do not already have one. Sparkweb is also available as a web-based client at im.case.edu.
