CaseWiki talk:Google Map Extension

Nice work! I just installed this extension at the Williams Students Online wiki, and it's behaving quite well.

I couldn't quite understand the steps for installing the extension. Could you add a step-by-step installation guide? I will use the extension for my private wiki. I will keep you posted if I have success.

You may want to check out some of the other Google Map extensions for MediaWiki. Mine was the first, but hasn't been updated since it was born. Others have put in tons more features and have detailed install directions. For a list, consult MetaWikiPedia:Category:Mediawiki Extensions. --Gregory.Szorc 01:32, January 24, 2006 (EST)

[edit] SemanticMediaWiki and Google Map Extension

Hi Guys!

Can you please share your code for this this upgrade? I would be very happy to use it on a non-profit website covering Israeli nature reserves and hikes.

Thank You! Udi, Israel

The Semantic MediaWiki integration is done at the JavaScript level. We simply use the output of my GraphStructures extension (Special:GraphStructure/xml/locations to be exact) and parse it with the JavaScript. As far as the JavaScript goes, grab it via http://wiki.case.edu/action/raw/MediaWiki:GoogleMaps.js
