Bookswap

The Bookswap is a service to Case students provided by the Ohio Alpha chapter of Tau Beta Pi. The Bookswap provides a venue through which students can buy and sell used textbooks at prices set by the seller. Textbooks are collected from student sellers by volunteers, the sellers specify the price at which their book is to be sold, and the book is made available for purchase by other Case students during the first week of each semester.

The Bookswap is held during the first week of every semester in Nord 310.

The Bookswap was first computerized in 1997. The current Bookswap software was originally written by Scott Schmucker. It was updated and secured by Bryan Inderhees. It is now maintained by Alex Converse who has made many small improvements. The Bookswap software makes use of PHP, MySQL, and LDAP and the public interface uses CAS.
